On 6th July Shravan Month started for Hindu religion and it is the first Sawan Somar 2020. Shravan month starts from the fifth month of Hindu Calendar. Lord Shiva's devotees wait for this month and starts there meditation towards Shiva.

On Monday, devotees will carry on the ritual of offering water on a small Shivling at their home. Many devotees have decided that they will worship the puja by making Shiva lingam from the soil, while many devotees were seen buying small Shivalinga in the market on Saturday. Throughout the month of Savan, they will perform Jalabhishek by placing Shivling in the house of worship.

Story Behind Shravan Month
According to Mythology, Parvati wanted to marry The Creator Lord Shiva. Hence to gain the attention Parvati kept fasting for whole month of Sawaan. By looking at her devotion Lord Shiva got impressed and he fulfilled her wish. During this month Lord Shiva and Parvati got reunited.
